Blasting

Professional blasting services including both dry blasting and vapour blasting, designed to remove corrosion, coatings and contamination while preparing metal surfaces for restoration or finishing.

What blasting is

Blasting is a surface preparation process used to remove rust, paint, corrosion and contamination from metal components. Different blasting methods are used depending on the material, the condition of the part and the finish required. At AL’S Blast & Paint Shop we commonly use both dry blasting and vapour blasting to achieve the most appropriate result for each project.

Common applications

  • Removing corrosion and old coatings

  • Preparing surfaces for powder coating or paint

  • Cleaning fabricated metal components

  • Restoring automotive and engineering parts

Dry blasting

Used where stronger surface preparation is required.

  • Removing heavy corrosion

  • Stripping paint and coatings

  • Preparing steel components

  • Creating a surface profile for coatings

Key benefits

  • Effective corrosion removal

  • Improves coating adhesion

  • Restores metal surfaces

  • Suitable for a wide range of components

Dry blasting vs Vapour blasting

Different blasting techniques are used depending on the type of material and the finish required. Dry blasting is typically used for stronger surface preparation and coating removal, while vapour blasting is often preferred for restoring delicate or detailed components.

Vapour blasting

Used where a cleaner and more refined finish is required.

  • Restoring aluminium components

  • Cleaning engine parts

  • Detail restoration work

  • Producing a smoother finish
